HELLOOO CANADA….here I come again!!!
Its time to take this baby on the road!!
Below are all my tour dates with a link to a Facebook Event for each one. Please click ‘attending’ on the FB Event if you will be there-its always great to know who I can look forward to seeing! (shows can also be found in my ‘Calendar’ section of my website.) Also, if you have friends or relatives who live in other parts of Canada who would enjoy a live show, I would be so grateful if you could share the dates and info with them! With all our technological advances and multi-dimensional media options; Word-of-Mouth is still the best way for music-lovin’ people to hear about independent musicians. There is no ‘big machine’ (ie. record label) behind me pumping Canadians to come on out! There is just me, sitting at this computer typing to you, hoping that you read this and be inspired by the songs and concept of this album so much that you will come out to shows and share it with all your family and friends!
This album and these songs are about all of us, as a country, as communities, as family, friends and individuals. All of us living regular lives (or what feels ‘regular’ to us!) being tired, happy, hopeful, giddy, sad, learning about ourselves and sharing these experiences through words and music….for now, I will tour and share the “Canadian Girl’ songs with you, but it is my hope that these songs show up around your campfires, with you and your kids and their kids singing them, for years to come. Someone recently asked me what I hope for this project/album and the answer was easy….I want it to be something meaningful in Canadian music that lives on and builds community, pride and a sense of being part of something bigger than ourselves. I’d like to make a video of ’Canadian Girl’ that is a collage of footage of as many Canadian ‘Girls’ (all ages, faiths, shapes, cultures, styles) as can fit within the length of the song/video and I would also like to make a video using the footage I recorded while traveling across the country to record the album, that includes footage of the guest artists, the places and people–there so many people were involved in the making of this album–I’d like to capture in a video what this process was like. (for those of you that haven’t seem some pictures already, please go to my blogsite at http://bonniestecroix.wordpress.com ) Those are dreams for this album and for the future!
In the meantime, I am going to try get out to your doorstep over the next year and sing in your living room, kitchen or local venue!!! So, with all that, I look forward to seeing you all over the next few months and your recommendations to friends and family about shows in their Province, Territory, Town are greatly appreciated as I travel around sharing this Canadian Adventure with everyone!
See you all soon eh!!!
bonnie :)
